| LOL! I emailed my Dad, he's looking into the hotels/flights now. I ordered my tickets for NFR, so I got that part covered (NFR WOO-HOO!!!). I called and heard that they are having meetings on the finals activities now, so it'll probably be awhile. I'm keeping my week very very free that week and traveling alone again, so I'm going to sign up for everything (and still have time to workout, hang by the pool and visit a few friends). WISH YOU WERE GOING!! Can't ya try to make it? Say "Hi" to "The Kid". |

I booked my hotel for Thursday through Monday for the finals, so here's hoping they don't do a lot of stuff I would want to do on the Wednesday I won't be there. That would be just my luck. Hopefully they start announcing some stuff soon! _________________

We are going in from Monday through Monday. I know last year they did the big opening the night before the first event where they announced all the riders and had the drawing for the first round bulls. I would think they would do that on Tuesday. I am thinking they probably will not do anything sooner than Tuesday and everything will be over by Sunday, so I am hoping to be there to get to do everything... lol I can't wait and I agree I want them to start posting stuff. We are trying to decide what hotel to get and depending on the locations of activities may help us make up our mind. _________________

I think it's gonna be awhile before they announce stuff. Are you going to the Thursday night event? I fly in on Wednesday. |

I decided on Treasure Island, because it's relatively cheap, I've stayed there before and it was decent, and it's a host hotel... I've not stayed in the host hotel before. Plus I suspect that Gillies will be an amusing place to watch on the big screens the days we don't go to events.
I'm really impatient for October! _________________

| Treasure Island sounds like a great choice. We've stayed next door at The Mirage and really like the location of the hotels as they seem close to alot of activity. I wonder what special events the hotel will have seeing as it is the host, definitely banners and posters etc |

We are going in Monday because we will probably take in a show that night. Tim does not like gong to Vegas and not going to a show. I want to leave all the nights and days open Wed. - Sun. for PBR stuff. And like I said I am assuming they will have the big kick off celebration on Tuesday night since the event starts Wed. Don't know for sure yet because they have not posted anything. But for sure everything will be over Sunday night. This way we will not miss anything and we will have some time to do other things in Vegas. _________________

As far as hotels, we are debating between several. We stayed at Southpoint last year and we can get a good price on it again this year. Cons - there is nothing else around it, so you have to drive, the smoke is really bad inside it...
Pros - It is a very nice room for a reasonable rate, the bull fighters usually stay there - they have in the past had some PBR activities there
We also have thought about Excaliber. It is pretty cheap, but not the best hotel. The great thing is that it is really close to Mandalay Bay and it has the tram that you can take to Mandalay Bay for free. It is also on the main strip so it is close to other hotels and casinos.
Don't know about Treasure Island. I think it is still more expensive than these two choices. We are trying to find out more abour Luxor. I think we can get a good deal there too and we have stayed there before. I really liked it before and it is also tram acccessible to Mandalay Bay.
I would really like to get some type of schedule of events so I can have an idea what and where things are going to be happening. It would make picking a hotel a lot easier. _________________

I've stayed at TI a few times, it's under new ownership now (it no longer belongs to MGM/Mirage). |

I like Mirage, it's probably my favorite, so I try to stay there as much as I can (and if I can afford to). |

I think it's gonna be awhile before they post. I hope they have some fun events planned. I am keeping things free too and I will be at more events than usual. I am going to hit a few of my favorite restaurants, stores, the pool and workout as well when i'm there. I plan to go to the Mandalay Bay expo on Thurs., Fri. and Sat. |

P.S. I can't wait til October either, but at least I have an IPRA rodeo to go to next week and a PRCA rodeo to go to in 4 weeks, so I'm happy. |
